Let's Keep the Conversation Going – August 2022
We are all into the last phase of Q3 with Q4 in front of us. Retail, service, dining, fitness, and hospitality are at a crucial time to scrutinize what has been learned so far this year. Here are seven questions that you can ask yourself and your formal and informal leaders:
- What has been working well for the business, or the department?
- Who has made the biggest impact in the business or department? (Identify who are the superstars)
- What have we been hearing from our customers? (Both positive and negative)
- What has been the biggest “Ah-Ha” moment in your area of responsibility?
- What could we do better operationally to improve the customer experience?
- What could we do better to improve the employee experience?
- How can we use what we have learned, to better prepare for the challenges of Q4?
Since we are all competing for customers, this exercise will not just keep the conversation going, in will provide you with valuable insight into the condition of your business as you prepare for Q4.
Here is a Leadership “tip”: Below are the four soft skills that make today’s CEO’s succeed – this is from a Harvard Business Review analysis:
- An elevated level of self-awareness.
- The ability to listen and communicate.
- The ability to work with diverse types of people.
- The capacity to understand what others are thinking and how they’re feeling.
To keep the conversation going … if you were to add a fifth skill, what would it be?
Let’s keep the conversations going. Call me if I can Help.
